- Arby’s is bringing back its BBQ menu, featuring pulled pork and a new smoked brisket option.
- Customers can order the meats as a sandwich or in a new mac-and-cheese-based BBQ Mac Bowl.
- The limited-time lineup is available now at participating Arby’s locations nationwide.
Arby’s may be a fast food chain, but its newest limited-time menu is taking a more low-and-slow approach. The restaurant’s BBQ lineup is back, this time with expanded protein options. If you still needed proof that Arby’s has the meats, here you go.
Alongside the return of the hickory-smoked pulled pork, Arby’s is adding brisket to the menu. The brisket is smoked for a whopping 13 hours before being chopped, giving you a mix of smoky bark and tender meat in every bite.
Customers can build their own BBQ adventure by selecting a meat, a sauce, and a format. Arby’s is bringing back its classic BBQ sandwich, which comes with a quarter-pound of meat on a toasted brioche bun, pickles, and either sweet or spicy BBQ sauce.
If you’re feeling extra decadent, there’s also a new Mac Bowl. It starts with a base of white cheddar mac and cheese, then gets topped with a quarter pound of either pulled pork or brisket, crispy onions, and your choice of BBQ sauce.
Fast-food BBQ is hardly a new idea, but Arby’s is trying to set this lineup apart by emphasizing the meat’s longer cook times. The chain says the pork is smoked for four hours and the brisket for 13, which helps give both proteins a deeper, more barbecue-joint-style flavor than a quicker shortcut would.
The addition of the Mac Bowl is also a smart play, taking one of the most recognizable BBQ sides and putting it center stage (and probably the one I’d order first). Whether it tastes as good as something from a true Southern BBQ joint is a separate conversation, but the fact that Arby’s is rolling this out nationwide is already worth commending.
The new BBQ menu is available starting today at participating Arby’s locations across the country. And if you want to try it for yourself, you’ll have to act fast as it’s only sticking around for a limited time.
