- Starbucks has rolled out a new Toy Story-themed menu featuring drinks, bakery items, and merch.
- The lineup includes drinks like the Woody Cowboy Cookie Cold Brew and Jesse Strawberry Frappuccino, plus items like a Forky tumbler and cowboy-hat mugs.
- Fans in the U.S. are reacting with a lot of jealousy and frustration that the drop is not available here.
America has a lot going for it, sure, but when it comes to fun food collabs, we really do seem to get the short end of the stick more often than not. On the Starbucks front alone, last month’s Honeydukes-inspired Harry Potter menu had plenty of people staring into the distance with resentment, and now there’s a brand new drop to be jealous of.
Any Toy Story fans out there may want to sit down before this sends you to infinity and beyond your limit.
Starbucks has rolled out a Toy Story-themed menu with drinks, bakery items, and merch that all look significantly cuter than anything most U.S. customers have been allowed to enjoy lately.
On the drinks side, the lineup includes a Woody Cowboy Cookie Cold Brew, Buzz Kiwi Energy, and a Jesse Strawberry Frappuccino. The bakery items sound just as committed to the bit, with a Buzz Cake, Alien Pistachio Macaron, Forky Hazelnut Macaron, and a Slinky Chewy Sausage Bread.
Then there’s the merch, with a post from Snackolator highlighting a Forky tumbler, Woody and Jesse mugs with cowboy-hat lids, and Bearista plushies dressed as Woody, Buzz, Alien, and Forky.
Naturally, the internet reacted the way the internet reacts every time another country gets a cute Starbucks rollout while the U.S. gets told to be grateful for a flavored latte and move on.
“Ugh everything looks so cute sucks living in America,” one person wrote. Another said, “CMON! Why cannot the US have a fun collab?!” Someone else put it even more plainly: “Do they think audiences in America don’t like cute things? Because we do 😂”
Others were less disappointed and more fully exasperated. “Why can’t the US have cute drops like this? Is there an actual reason or does someone need to be fired?” one commenter wrote. Another compared it to earlier Starbucks launches abroad, adding, “They get cute cat themed cups now toy story…we get horchata flavored drinks in may….not fair”
No word here on whether this menu or merch is headed stateside, which, if history is any guide, probably means American fans should not get their hopes too high. Still, if you needed another reminder that Starbucks abroad is often having much more fun than Starbucks here, this would be it.
