  • Mountain Dew Baja Blast is giving fans a free soda whenever an MLB player hits a home run that travels 420 feet or more.

  • Baja Blast also teamed up with Rawlings on a limited-edition $399.99 baseball glove.

If I’m being honest, when I’m at a baseball game, my attention is usually split between the actual field and whatever I’m eating in the stands. Chicken tenders, fries, a beer, maybe a quick moment of respect for baseball butts. But Mountain Dew Baja Blast, which is basically the only soda I care to drink on purpose, may have just given me a reason to start paying a little closer attention to those outfield bombs.

As the official soft drink of the 2026 MLB season, Baja Blast is rolling out a new promotion that rewards one very specific kind of baseball moment: home runs. Starting with Opening Day and running through the regular season, any homer that travels 420 feet or more unlocks a free Baja Blast for fans across the country.

To get in on it, fans can sign up at the promo site, add the Baja Blast pass to their mobile wallet, and redeem a free drink the day after a qualifying blast is hit. The offer can be used up to five times during the season, and MLB is also hosting a live leaderboard so people can track every 420-foot crusher in real time. As for the the giveaway, it’ set to run through September 27 or until 500,000 redemptions are claimed.

And because simply giving away free Baja Blast was apparently not enough, Mountain Dew also teamed up with Rawlings on a limited-edition baseball glove that looks like it was created for the ultimate Baja Blast-loving lunatic like myself. The glove is made with Rawlings’ premium Heart of the Hide leather, comes in that easily recognizable teal colorway, and is priced at $399.99.

“Baseball is built on big moments–big hits, big catches and big swings–and Mountain Dew Baja Blast is bringing the big sips to match,” Michael Smith, VP of Marketing for PepsiCo Beverages U.S., said in an announcement. “From rewarding 420-foot home runs with ‘Get a Baja for a Blast’ to teaming up with Rawlings on a limited-edition glove, we’re giving fans more ways to celebrate the biggest home runs throughout the season.”

So yes, MLB season is officially back. And now, every time a hitter sends a baseball 420 feet or more, there’s a free tropical lime soda hanging in the balance. Suddenly, I’m seated and thirstier than ever before.
