If you tend to reach for a bag of chips when the munchies hit, you’re going to want to read on. Frito-Lay has recalled select bags of Miss Vickie’s Spicy Dill Pickle Potato Chip due to a packaging error that resulted in the brand’s jalapeño-flavored chips being included instead. The problem? Those chips contain undeclared milk. That won’t be a concern for most people (unless you’re not a jalapeño fan), but for anyone with a milk allergy or sensitivity, it could cause a serious—and potentially life-threatening—allergic reaction.

The affected 8-ounce chip bags were distributed beginning January 15, 2026, in six states: Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. The chips were sold at a variety of retailers, including drug, convenience, and grocery stores, as well as online.

The affected bags contain the UPC code 0 28400 761772, a guaranteed fresh date of April 21, 2026, and either manufacturing code 38U30144 or 48U101514. The company was alerted to the issue following a consumer complaint, but no illnesses related to the recall have been reported to date.

As well, no other Frito-Lay or Miss Vickie’s products are affected by the recall, including bags in variety packs.
