  • Taco Bell announced plans to test out a new Crème Brûlée Crunchwrap Slider in select locations sometime this year.
  • The new dessert features a creamy vanilla filling, cinnamon sugar tostada, and a caramelized sugar shell.
  • So far, reactions to the new dessert concept have been mixed.

Earlier this month, Taco Bell announced big updates to its menu. At its annual Live Más LIVE event, the Tex-Mex chain listed over 20 new menu items it plans on rolling out through 2026. Among them is a new dessert-style Crunchwrap, the likes of which we have yet to see.

Arguably one of Taco Bell’s most beloved dishes, the Crunchwrap Supreme, which features a warm tortilla and crispy tostada shell wrapped around a mixture of beef, nacho cheese, and lettuce, is getting a sweet makeover this year in the form of an all-new Crème Brûlée Crunchwrap Slider.

This slider version is smaller than the original Crunchwrap Supreme and pivots to dessert, with a creamy vanilla filling and a crispy cinnamon-sugar tostada casing, finished off with a caramelized sugar shell. While we don’t have an exact launch date yet, we know that it will be tested on menus sometime this year.

Fan reactions seem mixed about the new delicacy, with some ranging from eager dessert lovers to skeptical pessimists. “Looks like poison,” one skeptic commented. “Who’s eating this lol,” another critic questioned.

“I don’t know if I trust Taco Bell with crème brulee. And I love Taco Bell,” one customer wrote. “This s**t is a crime brûlée 😭,” another joked.

On the other side, many people were stoked for the impending launch. “The way I’ll shove this down my gullet immediately,” one fan commented.

“But when is this dropping bc I need to try it,” another person asked. “Drool!” one fan exclaimed. “Fire that mfr up!!” another instructed.

Look, I love a well-executed crème brûlée…the crunchy textural addition here could really work if done right. I, for one, am looking forward to getting my hands on it. And according to the chain, fans have other new desserts to also look forward to, including a Milk Bar Birthday Cake Empanada and a Strawberry & Cream Mexican Pizza Bite.
