It’s been quite a week for fans of hit TV series The Traitors—Rob Rausch was crowned the winner, Maura Higgins was promised a Birkin, and things got heated at the reunion. Food might’ve been scarce at the castle (smoked salmon included), but Rausch is finally getting his fill since leaving. Specifically, the reality star has been leaning toward protein-heavy snacks. That’s why his new partnership with KIND makes a lot of sense.
“I’ve been a fan of the brand for a while and love what they stand for,” he tells me in an exclusive interview. “I love their protein products—the Protein Maxx KIND Bar is one of my favorites. 20 grams of protein and tastes delicious. It’s great stuff and fits right in my lifestyle,” he says. Instead of hard-boiled eggs and smoked salmon, staples at the Traitors castle, his ideal breakfast is a BLAT (a BLT with avocado), pancakes, and a big bowl of Protein Maxx Kind Granola with milk. And yes, he drinks whole. Didn’t find that in the castle, now did we?
The most fun part of the partnership? The team came down to his home in Alabama to shoot their commercial. “We got to do it on my farm, got to show them the cows, we pulled a bag of KIND granola out of the pond…it was a blast,” he shares.
Even though the snake wrangler had viewers fawning over his physique (thank you, overalls), his diet isn’t strictly relegated to health foods. As I’m sure we all know by now, Rob’s not afraid to get his hands dirty. And that includes getting messy with his go-to fast food order: Zaxby’s Kickin’ Chicken Sandwich Meal with heavy sauce, an extra cup of hot honey mustard, and Sprite. “I get that quite a bit,” he tells me.
The southern gentleman also stays true to his Alabama roots. When asked what dish from home he thinks is underrated throughout the rest of the country, he was quick to proclaim, “It’s got to be Alabama barbecue. No one does it like Alabama,” he says. “Also, just classic biscuits and gravy. You’d be so surprised at how many places just cannot do that right.”
And while you might be one of the many to become hypnotized by Robby Bobby, he’s not one to pull out all the stops when trying to woo a girl. “If I’m trying to impress a date, I would probably get takeout,” he tells me. “I wouldn’t want to poison her,” he says, hinting at the fact that he doesn’t cook.
As for the future of Rausch and the friendships he built with his castmates on Traitors? At the reunion, he promised costar Maura Higgins to use some of his prize money to buy her a Birkin bag. During our chat, Rausch revealed that he did, indeed, get Higgins her bag—and it’s supposed to arrive today. He shared that she requested it in a burgundy color with gold accents.
