- Valley Springs Artesian Gold, LLC, recalled nearly 650,000 gallons of bottled water due to packaging under “insanitary conditions.”
- The affected products were distributed throughout Illinois and Wisconsin.
- Numerous bottled water products were affected by the recall, and consuming them could cause illness.
A Class II recall has been issued for over 650,000 gallons of bottled water. Issued by Valley Springs Artesian Gold, LLC, the recall declared that the water was bottled under “insanitary conditions,” meaning that the affected product may be “contaminated with filth, or whereby it may have been rendered injurious to health,” according to the FDA.
Fortunately, the affected products were not distributed nationwide and were sold only in Illinois and Wisconsin. The affected products include:
- One-gallon bottles of Valley Springs 100% Natural Bottled Water with the UPC code 0 31193-00701 9.
- 2.5-gallon bottles of Valley Springs 100% Natural Bottled Water with the UPC code 0 31193-0150 4.
- One-gallon bottles of Valley Springs Infant Water with the UPC code 0 31193-01401 7
- One-gallon bottles of Valley Springs Daisy’s Doggy Water with the UPC code 0 31193-90100 3.
- One-gallon bottles of Valley Springs 100% Natural Bottled Water, Fluoride Added, with the UPC code 0 31193-01301 0.
- One-gallon bottles of Valley Springs Steamed Distilled Water with the UPC code 0 31193-00601 2.
Because many people use bottled water for infant formula, this recall is especially concerning for new parents and those who use distilled water for devices like humidifiers, neti pots, and CPAP machines.
The recall does not provide any consumer advice, but if you do have these bottles at home, you should not use them.
