If there’s one thing you know about Dolly Parton, it’s that she’s a Southern belle at heart. From her big voice to her even bigger personality, she’s always going to represent the South. So, it’s no surprise (or maybe just to me) that she’s launching a line of Southern-ready-to-eat meals.
This isn’t Dolly’s first rodeo in the food world. Last year, she released a cookbook, Good Lookin’ Cookin’, which celebrated her love for home-style cooking. And who could forget her legendary cake collaboration with Duncan Hines?
So, it only makes sense that Dolly would add “frozen food mogul” to her ever-growing résumé. Enter Dolly Parton’s single-serve meals, a new line of Southern classics that you can warm up and devour instantly. And yes, we’re already planning to stock up.
The line features all the Southern staples you’d expect from the queen herself—think country fried steak, shrimp and grits, chicken and dumplings, and more. And at just $4 per meal, well, you know that’s a deal.
While Parton’s no stranger to the food world, this is her first time creating her own frozen meal line. It’s been a dream of hers for a while, and after the success of her Duncan Hines collaboration, she thought, “Why not?”
“We thought, well, what else can we do because everybody loved it?” Parton said in an interview with CBS News. “I’ve always wanted to have my own line of frozen foods, where you can really have good dishes, just reach into the refrigerator, pull them out, and eat them—just heat and eat.”
If you’ve ever heard Dolly talk about food, you know it’s an important part of her life. Growing up in the Smoky Mountains, she learned to cook from her mama. Now, she’s sharing those recipes with the world.
“I am a good Southern cook,” she said. “I grew up eating good, Southern food and learned how to cook it coming from a big family and my aunts and my mom and my grandmas. So that’s just a natural thing for country women to know how to cook.”
And while Parton knows the ins and outs of the kitchen, even she struggles to find time to whip up a meal. But that’s where these meals come in. They’re all about convenience without sacrificing taste. Just heat, eat, and enjoy. And the best part? They’re available at grocery stores nationwide, so you can grab ‘em anytime starting now.
