Chick-fil-A’s Rumored New Sides Aren’t Nationwide Yet

  • Rumors about new Chick-fil-A side dishes have been circulating, including sweet potato waffle fries, fried okra, onion rings, and more.
  • A Chick-fil-A representative said there are no plans at the moment to bring the rumored sides to all locations.
  • The sides are available at Little Blue Menu in College Park, MD, and at Truett’s/Dwarf House locations in Georgia.

Chick-fil-A loves a slow-burn rollout. And sometimes, after testing something in a limited area, they let the rest of us in on the fun. So when I saw the rumors floating around about new side dishes that lean extra Southern, my first thought was that, as a growing boy at 34, I would like to participate.

But would I actually get to eat them, or am I about to yearn for an updated menu that doesn’t exist within 500 miles of me?

Rumors picked up after a post on Instagram from food blogger Snack Wire suggested that Chick-fil-A was working on a lineup of new sides. The alleged list reads like a potluck table: everything from sweet potato soufflé and crispy brussels sprouts to fried okra, onion rings, and cornbread.

But PEOPLE reports that a Chick-fil-A representative said the brand does not plan to bring these items to all its restaurants. However, these sides are available at Little Blue Menu in College Park, Maryland, a separate Chick-fil-A-owned concept that serves familiar favorites and new items.

Snack Wire also noted that these sides are available at Truett’s/Dwarf House restaurants in Georgia, which are part of the broader Chick-fil-A family and offer a wider, stay-for-a-bit style experience.

The chain is also in the midst of trying out other new menu contenders—the Avocado Sriracha BLT Sandwich and the Sweet Chili Lime Crunch Sandwich—which, like the sides, you can’t get at the same place.

So while I’m not saying I’d hop in a car just for a taste.. I’m also not saying that. Road trip, anyone?
