Let’s be real: sometimes things don’t go as planned, and you’ve just got to take matters into your own hands. That’s exactly what one McDonald’s customer did when his McFlurry wasn’t mixed properly. Instead of settling for an incomplete order, he decided to fix it himself.

An Instagram user, @LADibble, posted a viral clip showing a customer asking an employee if the McFlurry mixer was broken. To viewers, it seemed like the McFlurry hadn’t been mixed at all. The employee confirms that the mixer isn’t working, and you’d think that’d be the end of it. But nope.

Instead of accepting defeat, the customer takes matters into his own hands. He walks around the counter, enters the kitchen area, and heads straight for the mixer. Yes, you read that right—he mixes his own McFlurry, like a true problem solver.

And it worked! The machine started up and mixed the Oreo and ice cream just fine. Naturally, fans went wild in the comments, debating whether the customer was “right” or “wrong” for taking things into his own hands.

One person argued that the employee “just straight lied” and that the machine was actually working. Others suggested the employee didn’t want to clean the machine again, especially since it was probably close to closing time. One commenter explained, “Probably close to closing, and it was already deep cleaned, so they didn’t want to clean it again and lied about it.”

On the flip side, some defended the employee, saying that while the machine might have been operable, there could have been sanitary concerns. One fan wrote, “Sometimes, this is worker code for ‘I can’t in good conscience use it on your food.’”

Others, like a former McDonald’s employee, weighed in with a cautionary note: “If an employee tells you something isn’t working, please trust them. We told people that every day for their own safety! Those machines go MONTHS without being cleaned!”

I’m not here to say whether the customer was in the right or wrong (that’s for you to decide in the comments), but I will say this: sometimes, you just have to take matters into your own hands.
