Even though mogul Kathy Hilton is no stranger to the finer things in life, she somehow remains relatable. Maybe it’s because she prioritizes comfort over style when traveling—she notoriously carries a pillow and wears slippers—or the fact that she and her husband, Rick, are regulars at The Cheesecake Factory. Better yet, it could be because, just like the rest of us, she tends to get a bit overwhelmed by technology. That’s why she swears by a particular coffee maker that only requires you to press a single button.

Ahead ofMother’sDay, Hilton has teamed up with Keurig to promote its new K-Mini Mate Plus coffee maker in a beautiful Wild Orchid color. “I have tried many of these coffee makers and for some reason I can’t do it,” she told me. On a recent stay at The Colony Hotel, she discovered the Mini Mate Plus, where all you have to do is push one button and your coffee is ready. “It’s the only one that I can somehow get to work. I love it so much and it’s so compact. I could maybe pack it with my fan and take it to travel with me,” she added.

She’s not exaggerating, either. The Mini Mate Plus is barely five inches wide, which makes it an ideal countertop companion or potential travel essential. “I just take one sip and I’m ready to take on the day,” she says of her Keurig coffee.

While Hilton prefers a one button approach to brewing her coffee, she is more hands-on in the kitchen. “What I cook, I cook well,” she told me. “But I don’t cook all the time.”

Instead, she prides herself on thoughtfully curated meals for friends and family. Hilton says she loves recreating a classic Italian dinner, complete with a red-and-white checkered tablecloth. “I do a great salad and three different homemade sauces, all organic, all healthy,” she says of her pasta nights. “And then my turkey, I think, is the best turkey ever,” she adds, before detailing the rigorous and specific process she follows to nail the perfect family dinner.

But when she’s not cooking at home, there’s one fast food spot that she just can’t get enough of. “I go to Taco Bell and by the time I get in the car I’m shaking—I’m taking that taco out before I can pull out of the parking spot that 10 people are waiting for,” she told me. “I get that crunch going and a sip of Coke and I am the happiest.” In fact, Taco Bell is probably the family favorite, she shares.

Call it proof that no matter how fancy the life, fast food loyalty runs deep.
