From turning heads and getting the gossip going on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives to tearing up the ballroom floor on Dancing with the Stars, and now starring on Broadway as Roxie Hart, Whitney Leavitt just keeps climbing. The reality star turned actress—who is also set to star in a Hallmark movie later this year—is making her mark in all manner of creative endeavors, but she’s still staying true to her Utah roots. Case in point: The girl still loves a dirty soda.

In fact, she loves the habit so much that since she’s relocated to New York City, she’s ditched Swig in favor of the more local Cool Sips, where she now leads creative direction and menu innovation. “Dirty soda has always been a part of my life growing up in Utah—Utah is the heart of dirty soda,” Leavitt tells me. “While I’ve been living in New York City, I was introduced to this company, tried their dirty soda, and fell in love.”

What sets it apart from other spots like Swig is that, instead of focusing solely on soft drinks like soda, Cool Sips has branched out and offers “dirty” takes on teas, coffees, lemonades, and even energy drinks.

For those not as well-versed in the dirty soda arena as Leavitt, she has a few useful tips on how to craft your perfect bevvy. “Find your base—a drink that you typically already go to, and then spruce it up a bit,” she suggests. Start with something you already enjoy drinking, whether it’s club soda or tea, and then add a creamer and a syrup or two. “It’s trial and error,” she shares.

And Cool Sips isn’t the only city spot the star has become a regular at. “I’ve fallen in love with Liberty Bagels,” she confides. “They have this jalapeño bagel—girl, it’s so good. It’s Connor’s and my weekend ritual. I’ve become a little bagel girlie.”
