If I am ever craving fried chicken—which, let’s be honest, can happen at literally any time— KFC can take all my money. I trust the Colonel with my life. And while it’s hard to top a Famous Bowl in my personal ranking system, KFC’s latest announcement is very much in my lane.
The chain is expanding its menu in two directions at once with the return of the Twister and the introduction of a new $20 Build a Bucket bundle.
The Twister is back by popular demand, and this time it’s being positioned as a full meal. It’s a warm tortilla wrapped around two crispy Original Recipe Tenders, plus lettuce, diced tomato, and KFC’s Pepper Mayo. It comes in two versions: the Twister Classic and the Twister Bacon (which adds hickory-smoked bacon, because of course it does). If you want some heat, KFC says you can add Zinger Sauce for an extra kick.
Then there’s the new $20 Build a Bucket, which is KFC’s answer to the spiral when nobody can agree on what to get. The bundle lets you choose 8 pieces of chicken on the bone or 8 Original Recipe tenders, plus 4 individual sides, 4 biscuits, and 4 sauces (if you go the tenders route).
It’s the kind of order that works whether you’re feeding a family, splitting dinner with friends, or just aggressively meal-planning with extra ambition.
So yes, KFC is doing value and portability at the same time—and as someone who’s always at least open to a new fried chicken format, I’m listening.
