  • Reser’s Fine Foods has recalled Molly Kitchen’s Tuna Salad because it was mistakenly identified as Chicken Salad.
  • The mix-up poses a serious threat to those with tuna or fish allergies.
  • The affected product was distributed in Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah, and Washington.

Reser’s Fine Foods recalled nearly 300 tubs of Molly Kitchen’s Tuna Salad after discovering that the product was sealed with the wrong lid label. The tubs were labeled as Molly Kitchen’s Chicken Salad by mistake, and only the master cardboard case correctly identifies the product, not the individual product itself.

The misidentified tuna salad does not include a tuna allergen warning, and because tuna is both a top and serious allergen, the FDA has designated this as a Class I recall. That means anyone with a sensitivity or allergy to tuna who consumes this product may experience adverse health consequences, including death.

The affected product contains the UPC code 7 5810830149 8, the lot number 1410100754, and a use-by date of February 21, 2026. Hopefully, the product is no longer in any refrigerators; however, it was distributed to delis, cafeterias, and supermarkets in five U.S. states. Consumers in Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah, and Washington should take extra caution.
