- KATSEYE teamed up with Erewhon to launch the Gabriela Smoothie, inspired by the group’s hit song.
- The cherry-and-saffron blend supports the Malala Fund, which advocates for girls’ education worldwide.
- Fans online are already planning Erewhon trips just to try the limited-edition drink.
I’ll admit it: I’m a 34-year-old EYEKON. Which means I happily stream KATSEYE, would absolutely buy concert tickets, and still wince a little when the lyrics start veering into fried chicken and Teslas. And yet… here we are. Fully vulnerable to whatever these girls convince me I need next.
And apparently, what I need next is a $20-plus smoothie.
KATSEYE has partnered with Erewhon to launch the Gabriela Smoothie, named after their hit track, and fans are already plotting pilgrimages to the upscale grocery chain to get their hands on one.
According to Erewhon’s Instagram announcement, the smoothie is a tart-meets-sweet blend of the wellness aisle’s greatest hits, made with organic cherries and saffron, alongside coconut milk, coconut water, coconut yogurt, honey, pineapple, mango, banana, beet juice, dates, pitaya coconut cream, maca, and ashwagandha.
Proceeds support Malala Fund, the nonprofit founded by Malala Yousafzai that works to ensure girls worldwide have access to free, safe, quality education. So yes, your expensive smoothie technically counts as philanthropy, too.
And fans, as you can imagine, are ready to empty their bank accounts just for a sip.
“Need immediately,” one commenter wrote. “Oh ok so THIS will be my reason to go to Erewhon for the first time,” another added.
Others expressed their need to try it now, with a different person simply labeling their latest collaboration as “iconic.”
These smoothies are practically a rite of passage now, and every celebrity or artist collaboration sends fans sprinting toward the nearest Erewhon blender.
Maybe it’s evil that I now want to spend $22 on a smoothie, but if I happen to be within walking distance of an Erewhon sometime soon, let’s just say my willpower isn’t winning that battle. Goddamn you, KATSEYE. Goddamn you.
