Whether you love it or hate it, there’s no avoiding it: Valentine’s Day is fast approaching. Break out your red and pink wardrobe staples, hit the shops for a gift and a card, and start looking at restaurant reservations, because if you don’t, someone else is going to snag them right out from under you. Whether you’re coupled up or single, going out on Valentine’s Day or Galentine’s Day (heck, even Mistress Day) is always a good idea. Usually, you can take advantage of special holiday menus or prix fixe meals, which is always a plus. The hardest part? Figuring out where to go.
Luckily, Yelp is here to help (see what I did there?). Yelp looked to its Yelp Elite contributors to determine the top romantic restaurants in the country. To compile the list, restaurants (no more than 15 per state) were ranked by review volume and ratings from Yelp Elite members. And you might be surprised to learn the number one spot went to a restaurant in Arizona.
Cafe Monarch, a highly acclaimed, award-winning restaurant in Scottsdale, Arizona, earned its place on the list for good reason. Tripadvisor previously named it one of the top three fine-dining restaurants in the country, and if the pictures are anything to go by, it’s serving both romantic ambiance and world-class food. Here’s how the top 10 shook out:
