Check your fridge! Kraft Heinz, the parent company of packaged meat behemoth Oscar Mayer, has issued a recall on 367,812 pounds of cooked turkey bacon products due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The massive recall affects turkey bacon that was produced between April 24, 2025, and June 11, 2025. The items were shipped nationwide, with some distribution as far as the British Virgin Islands and Hong Kong, according to the recall.

The affected products include:

  • 12-ounce vacuum-packed packages of Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon Original with a UPC of 071871548601 and use by dates ranging from July 18, 2025, to August 2, 2025, and a lot code of RS40
  • 36-ounce packages containing 3 12-ounce vacuum-packed packages of Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon Original with a UPC of 071871548748 and use by dates ranging from July 23, 2025, to September 4, 2025, and lot codes RS19, RS40, and RS42

To date, there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions linked to these products. However, consuming food contaminated with Listeria can cause serious infections, particularly in people with weakened immune systems. The USDA’s Food Service and Inspection Service (FSIS) urges consumers to check their refrigerators and freezers for the contaminated product. Additionally, FSIS recommends that those who have the products in their possession either throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.
