If you keep frozen shrimp around for your go-to dinner, this is your sign to pause before you thaw anything.
Direct Source Seafood LLC is recalling roughly 83,800 bags of frozen raw shrimp sold under the Market 32 and Waterfront Bistro labels after concerns that the product may have been exposed to very low levels of cesium-137 (Cs-137), a man-made radioactive isotope.
No illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall, per the FDA, but the issue is serious enough that the guidance is relatively straightforward: don’t eat the recalled shrimp. If you have it, return it to the store for a full refund or throw it in the garbage.
