When I got word that the GOAT of football (and notorious health advocate) Tom Brady was launching his own snack, I obviously knew I had to snag the treat before anyone else. In collaboration with Gopuff, Brady announced his latest endeavor today—GOAT Gummies, which make a playful nod to his fan-given nickname. The 7-time Super Bowl champion is an investor in Gopuff, so when the company decided to create a better-for-you snack, they knew just who to turn to. The man is known for his vigorous and uncompromising dedication to health and wellness, after all.
GOAT Gummies are organic, vegan, and free from artificial dyes, sweeteners, and flavors—plus, according to the brand, they’re made with real fruit over in France. They currently come in three fine-tuned flavors, and when I asked Brady if we’d find strawberry among those flavors, he was quick to tell me, “Oh no, definitely not. That is very intentional.” Guess he’s still on that anti-strawberry bandwagon.
What you will find, though, is plenty of other juicy fruit flavors: Sweet Rush combines pear, mango, passionfruit, and cherry; Tropic Fusion meshes together raspberry, passionfruit, and pomegranate flavors; and Sour Burst—Brady’s favorite—includes tangerine, apricot, and grapefruit.
One serving of the star-shaped gummies (four pieces) is 50 calories, and each bag contains seven servings. Coming from the man who created TB12, I wasn’t sure how these would taste. While I can relate to Brady’s fish-like consumption of water (hydration, baby!), that’s about as much as our diets have in common.
“I was, and still am, very conscious of everything I put in my body,” he tells me. “Too much of a good thing is not a good thing, and obviously, too much of a bad thing is a really bad thing. My view is everything in moderation.”
When crafting the gummies, he wanted to create something that he could feel good about his kids and their friends eating. The goal was to make it easier to avoid certain ingredients in ultra-processed foods.
And honestly, the gummies are good. You can taste all of the flavors in the Tropic Fusion gummy. It’s more difficult to find each and every fruit flavor in Sweet Rush, but the pear definitely stands out. I don’t think I’ve ever had a pear-flavored gummy before—groundbreaking!
But I have to say, the GOAT of the GOAT gummies is Sour Burst. The outer sour coating gives the gummy a bit of extra texture and encourages a slight pucker that really makes you feel like you’re indulging in a treat. And hey, maybe Brady and I aren’t so different after all. The Sour Burst is his favorite flavor too. “I love the sour,” he tells me. “The sour burst, a little tangerine, a little grapefruit, and the texture is amazing.” Sounds like we’re two peas in a pod.
And if you’re into the gummies, that might not be where the fun ends. “There are more things that we’ve talked about, things that are really natural and things that have been involved in my life,” says Brady. “You know, I make waffles in the morning. How can we make the best possible waffle mix for parents?” Brady continues, hinting at possible future collaborations with Gopuff.
And who knows—if you find yourself upset that Tom Brady isn’t hawking strawberry gummies, don’t count them out quite yet. While unlikely, Brady told me it could happen down the line. “The problem is, it’ll probably end up being a best seller if we created that, and then my least favorite will be the one that people like the most,” he jokes.
GOAT Gummies are available exclusively on Gopuff for $4.99 and can be delivered to your door in as fast as 15 minutes. “That’s the definition of fast food,” states Brady. “It comes to you. There’s nothing better than that.”
