There are plenty of signs that the holidays have arrived: decorations, maybe some snow, and definitely seasonal food. Maybe you’re baking Christmas cookies and festive pies, or stocking up on your go-to seasonal treats. From Trader Joe’s to Costco, every chain has returning goods that fans can’t wait to add to their carts. One favorite in particular is Costco’s $99.99 Serrano ham leg.
The 14-pound Noel Consorcio Serrano Ham Reserva Leg is aged for 12 months and comes with a stand, knife, and cover. “[This is] an exclusive Serrano ham, a selected piece guaranteed by the Spanish Serrano Ham Consortium seal of quality,” the description reads, clearly made for serious ham lovers.
While $100 for one item may feel steep, social media reviews suggest it could be worth it. In this Instagram reel, @s_johnson_voiceovers gives the Costco purchase a B+ grade, calling it a potential “party trick at the holidays” and that it’s “very solid.”
The ham leg can be stored in the refrigerator or on the counter, and commenters had a lot of opinions about the latter. “I mean, every time I walk in the kitchen I would have to take a slice off,” one person joked. Another added, “My cat would love me leaving this out on the counter.”
On TikTok, another reviewer documented the ham from the store to the kitchen setup. (Note that the ham isn’t actually prosciutto, but rather Serrano ham.)
“Overall, this is really fun to have around for the holidays,” they said. “I think my family enjoyed just picking up the knife and carving into it. I think it’s a buy for $99.”
One commenter agreed: “$100 for the ham AND the setup? That’s a steal of a deal.” Another said, “We get this every year and bring it to Thanksgiving. It’s a huge hit.”
