Chicken nuggets are a fast food menu staple, but just because every drive-thru has the crispy bite-sized entrée doesn’t necessarily mean they’re just as good from place to place. In fact, I can tell you straight up: There’s a hierarchy.
And while I have my own opinion on which nugs deserve a spot at the top of the pyramid, we decided to let the internet decide. So…which fast food joint has superior chicken nuggets? We included McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Shake Shack, KFC, Burger King, and Chick-fil-A in our Instagram experiment—and there was a clear frontrunner.
Comments flooded in on Wendy’s version: “Wendy’s nuggs and honey mustard are the best!” one person wrote, while another added, “Wendy’s 🔥 it’s the one that actually tastes like chicken.”
“Wendy’s. If Burger King still had the crown shaped nuggets, it would have stood a chance,” a third fan chimed in. Others simply wrote, “Wendy’s!!!!” and “Wendy’s 🔥🔥,” while one person said that Wendy’s deserves the honor simply because “their sauces are superior.”
However, Chick-fil-A nuggets were a close second. “Chick-fil-A followed by Wendy’s, that’s it,” another user said on Instagram. CFA then Wendy’s 💯,” someone else agreed. Others said it was “Chick-fil-A, no contest” and “Chick-fil-A, and it’s not close.”
There were even some write-ins that weren’t included on the OG list, particularly Taco Bell. “TACO BELLS NUGGETS ARE THE BEST,” one person wrote. “Surprisingly Taco Bell,” another T-Bell fan agreed. “Why is taco bell not on here?” one Instagrammer asked.
“Why Popeyes is not here? Those are the best ones😍,” someone else said, while more argued in favor of Zaxbys and Culvers.
My hot take? The Delish homemade nugs are actually the best.
