I know we already decided on the drink of the summer, and I’m not saying we’re taking that back. What I am saying, though, is that there’s a worthy competitor that almost outshines it.
What is it? The Sarti Rosa. It’s a type of spritz similar to the Hugo Spritz or the classic Aperol Spritz—except this one is an apéritif liqueur made with Sicilian blood oranges, passionfruit, and mango. Think of it as Aperol’s sweeter, fruitier cousin.
The drink came on our radar after TikToker Eli Rallo shared a now-viral video featuring the Sarti Rosa, and now everyone is obsessed—including us. I mean… it’s pink, passionfruit-forward, and made with prosecco?? Of-freaking-course we’re sold.
There’s just one teeny tiny issue: the drink isn’t available in the U.S.
“It’s not widely available in the U.S., and I’ve been thinking about [this drink] for two freaking months,” Rallo says in the clip. “I finally found a person who would ship the bottle to me, but the shipping costs as much as the bottle. The bottle is $35, and the shipping is $35.”
I love a good spritz as much as the next person, but $35 for shipping? Absolutely not. There has to be a dupe—and luckily, I did some sleuthing.
Now, unfortunately, there’s nothing exactly like the Sarti Rosa stateside, but according to Reddit, Aperitivo Rosato—a fruity apéritif made with hibiscus and orange blossom—is a solid second. Similarly, Lillet Rosé, with its blend of red berries, orange blossom, and grapefruit, is a worthy option.
In the meantime, we’ll sip our dupes while our friends across the pond enjoy the real thing. And manifest that the Sarti Rosa will eventually grace our shelves.
