It doesn’t look like Starbucks is the only fast food giant making waves this summer. While the coffee chain is rumored to be diving into the protein world with a new cold foam, Chipotle is making moves of its own—this time, into the ranch dressing game.
The Tex-Mex chain hasn’t exactly been known for its condiments. (In my opinion, it’s the chicken and barbacoa that speak for themselves, not the salsa or queso.) But now, it looks like Chipotle is ready to spice things up.
Starting June 17, the brand will officially launch Adobo Ranch—a creamy, spicy spin on its signature adobo flavor. The sauce features adobo pepper, sour cream, and a blend of herbs and spices. And according to TODAY, there are no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. You can drizzle, dip, or dunk this bb in whatever you’re ordering.
This marks Chipotle’s first new condiment in five years, following the launch of Queso Blanco in 2020, and it’s clearly aimed at capturing the Gen Z ranch obsession.
“Ranch has become a cultural phenomenon, especially among Gen Z, who are finding creative ways to enjoy it beyond the traditional salad,” Chris Brandt, Chipotle’s president and chief brand officer, said in a press release. “Our new Adobo Ranch taps into this passion, giving fans a crave-worthy way to customize their Chipotle order with a completely new flavor.”
The ranch isn’t a permanent menu item yet. It’s a limited-edition release. But let’s be real: if enough people fall in love, there’s a good chance it’ll stick around.
Bonus: Chipotle Rewards members can get it for free on launch day. Everyone else? It’ll cost just 75 cents. And if you’re not a member yet, don’t panic—just sign up by 11 p.m. on June 16 to score the deal.
Come Tuesday, you’ll know where to find me: standing in line at Chipotle, ready to get my hands on that Adobo Ranch. I may not be a condiment girlie, but I do love me some ranch, and this one sounds like it’s worth the hype.
