Remember when the internet collectively roasted Poppi’s Root Beer flavor? Ah, good times. Well, the prebiotic soda brand is clearly listening, and their response is… interesting.

In a recent Instagram post, Poppi announced they’re giving their Root Beer a makeover. Say goodbye to the old flavor and hello to a new and improved version.

“We heard you loud and clear 🗣️🗣️🗣️ You wanted us to level up our Root Beer, so that’s exactly what we did 😏😋,” Poppi wrote.

“Allow us to reintroduce you to our brand ✨ New and improved ✨ Root Beer! We gave it a fresh new look and a bold new flavor, and we can’t WAIT to hear what you think! 😍 If you’ve tried it yet, did we totally nail it or what??” the caption reads.

So, what’s different this time around? According to TODAY, the revamped drink still contains the signature apple cider vinegar, prebiotics, and just 5 grams of sugar. But now, it boasts a “bold, refreshed flavor” with the addition of cassava root fiber.

The Root Beer, which first debuted back in 2021, definitely took its fair share of *major* criticism. Social media users weren’t shy about calling it out, with one Reddit user declaring, “This may be the worst root beer I’ve ever had. Just truly awful.”

But the few fans who’ve tried the new formula are absolutely loving it. Many are comparing its taste and richness to the nostalgic vibe of a root beer float. “I love this! I just found it, and it’s one of the best ever!! It’s my favorite flavor of soda 😂. It’s 1000/10 😍🤤,” one user gushed.

“It’s so good! It tastes more like traditional root beer as opposed to the old one. I’m pumped!” another fan shared.

And hey, Poppi, since you’re listening to feedback, the people want their “punch pop” and cream soda back. Just sayin’.
