The Food Network star says he\u2019s recovering from a freak accident that landed him in emergency surgery and temporarily sidelined him during production of his new show, <em data-node-id=\"2.3\">Flavor Town Food Fight<\/em>. Doctors told him he needs eight weeks with no weight on the leg before rehab begins. &#8220;As much as you want to get back to being Guy, you\u2019re going to really have to go through it,&#8221; he recalled being told. Challenge accepted\u2014just not at the expense of Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n<section data-embed=\"watch-next\" data-lazy-id=\"P0-14\" data-node-id=\"6\" class=\"embed\"\/>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"7\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Instead of calling off the feast at his ranch (they usually cook for about 40), Guy\u2019s turning the holiday into a family hand-off. &#8220;I got my three boys, Hunter, Ryder, and Jules\u2026 now it\u2019s gonna be me quarterbacking from the wheelchair and telling them what to do,&#8221; he said. Ryder, for his part, is ready: &#8220;All the training you\u2019ve given me\u2026 it was going to be my time to shine.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"8\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">The game plan is clear: rest, rehab, and help plate the turkey anyway.
