It only makes sense that a bagel festival will find its home here. So when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bagelfest.com\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.bagelfest.com\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"BagelFest\" data-node-id=\"3.1\" class=\"body-link css-1i7jlb0 emevuu60\">BagelFest<\/a> invited Delish to come carb-load at their annual event at Citi Field, I basically volunteered as tribute before they finished the sentence. A festival dedicated entirely to bagels? Please. This is my Olympics.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"4\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Walking into BagelFest feels like stepping into an alternate universe where gluten intolerance does not exist and every booth is a portal to a different bagel fantasy. There are trays of seeded rings as far as the eye can see. There\u2019s schmear happening at every angle. Everyone is aggressively happy. Like, a concerning amount. But no bite topped the one that technically wasn\u2019t even available to the public, only the press lounge: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.moonrisebagels.com\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.moonrisebagels.com\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"Moonrise Bagel\u2019s\" data-node-id=\"6.1\" class=\"body-link css-1i7jlb0 emevuu60\">Moonrise Bagel\u2019s<\/a> stuffed Buffalo chicken bagel. Originating in the Hudson Valley and about to open its first NYC shop in the West Village, Moonrise rolled, stuffed, boiled, and baked this thing right in front of us; it was an actual performance. The bagel was piping hot with a perfectly salty crust, and the inside was fully loaded with creamy, spicy Buffalo chicken. Then they handed us a cup of their homemade ranch, and I momentarily lost consciousness. It was 10\/10. No notes. A crispy wonton topper, a swipe of cream cheese, plus duck sauce? It was the most unhinged idea, and it absolutely worked. My guest and I kept looking at each other like, \u201cDo we go back for thirds? Are we animals? Probably.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"10\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\"><a href=\"https:\/\/tillybagelshop.com\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/tillybagelshop.com\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"Tilly Bagel\" data-node-id=\"10.0\" class=\"body-link css-1i7jlb0 emevuu60\">Tilly Bagel<\/a> served one of the best schmears I\u2019ve ever tasted: a caramelized onion cream cheese that was so rich and deeply sweet-savory it made me want to write a letter to its creator. <a href=\"https:\/\/holeycitybagels.com\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/holeycitybagels.com\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"Holey City Bagels\" data-node-id=\"10.2\" class=\"body-link css-1i7jlb0 emevuu60\">Holey City Bagels<\/a> went the dessert route with a banana cream cheese so light and fluffy it almost tasted like banana pudding, and then added handmade peanut butter that was slightly grainy in texture \u2014 which sounds wrong, but was actually perfect. Not cloying, not overly spiced\u2014just warm, cozy fall energy.
