Steven Morea<\/span><\/figcaption><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\nThis pop-up\u2014which is back in NYC and now expanding to LA, Vegas, and Miami\u2014feels like someone cracked open Mariah\u2019s brain and built a bar out of it. There are sparkly walls, oversized photo ops, recreations of her album covers, and an entire section dedicated to her awards. The accolade wall is so campy, I actually giggled. It\u2019s giving: \u201cHere\u2019s every time I won, please behave accordingly.\u201d<\/p>\n
One of my favorite parts is the \u201cLetters to Mariah\u201d station. Not Santa. MARIAH. You can literally sit down and write a handwritten note to the Queen of Christmas like she\u2019s your seasonal therapist. I saw full-grown adults earnestly writing paragraphs, and I respect it. I just asked for a Birkin, no biggie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steven Morea<\/span><\/figcaption><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\nAs I wandered around, the only thing in my head was: Mariah really engineered the ultimate infinite holiday money glitch, and I am in complete awe.<\/em> This woman secured a forever bag with one song, and now she has themed bars. If that\u2019s not mother behavior, I don\u2019t know what is.<\/p>\nOf course, because it\u2019s a bar, there\u2019s an entire menu of holiday food and cocktails. You can do a full brunch (French toast bites, parfaits, breakfast sandwiches), snack on sliders or truffle fries, or sit with a themed cocktail like the Santa\u2019s Spritzer or the Make My Wish Come True. It\u2019s very \u201ceat, drink, and be a little unhinged\u201d energy. (Menus from the NYC location include everything from crispy shrimp wontons to mulled wine to a white-chocolate Irish cream martini if you need a visual.)<\/p>\n\n\n

Cozy, sparkly, a little tacky, a lot extra. The kind of thing you\u2019d bring your friends to after ice skating, or your mom to after seeing the tree, or literally anyone who has ever said \u201cI love that song\u201d in late November.<\/p>\n\n\n

Steven Morea<\/span><\/figcaption><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\nIf you\u2019re in NYC (or LA, Miami, or Vegas), this is absolutely worth adding to your holiday lineup, not because it\u2019s the most elevated culinary experience of your life, but because it\u2019s hilarious, festive, extremely self-aware, and just fun. It\u2019s basically a shrine to the woman who owns December, and walking through it feels like stepping into a world where the only rule is: \u201cAll I Want for Christmas Is You\u201d must play every 30 minutes. That\u2019s the kind of holiday delusion I\u2019m trying to live in this year.
