In a recent TikTok, a local woman in the Adelaide Hills documented a rather harrowing food experience she had at a caf\u00e9 called POT. She grabbed a croissant sandwich while out on a run and brought it to her office to eat later in the day. When she lifted the top half, she found dozens of maggots crawling inside.  &#8220;I hope everyone&#8217;s morning was better than mine,&#8221; she captioned the video. <\/p>\n<section data-embed=\"tiktok\" data-lazy-id=\"P0-13\" data-node-id=\"3\" class=\"embed\"\/>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"4\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">The video was immediately flooded with comments. &#8220;Call me dramatic but I&#8217;d never eat again,&#8221; one user wrote. &#8220;That would send me into psychosis,&#8221; commented another.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"5\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Another was a little more forensic: &#8220;Maggots are fly larvae, that had to be left out at room temperature for some time. Flies come and lay eggs and you get maggots.&#8217;They don&#8217;t naturally happen.'&#8221;<\/p>\n<section data-embed=\"watch-next\" data-lazy-id=\"P0-14\" data-node-id=\"6\" class=\"embed\"\/>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"7\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Local authorities seem to be investigating, and the caf\u00e9 issued its first public apology\u2014but many found their statement to be underwhelming. &#8220;Hello, Our Dear, Loyal POT Friends &#8211; Just a quick heads up apropos some recent Social Media woes. A one-off mishap on our behalf &#8211; about which we were mortified &amp; apologetic &#8211; has resulted in a most unfortunate &#8220;viral-moment&#8221;, from a single post. X,&#8221; read the apology.   <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"8\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Following backlash over the initially flippant post, the caf\u00e9 returned to social media to issue yet another apology. &#8220;Firstly i want to say please read this with a open heart and mind and know that i accept full responsibility and understand the severity of what has occurred&#8230;i sucuumbed to the pressure of having quick grab and go food available when i was not on site and for sucumming to that pressure and i am so pissed off at myself,&#8221; the Instagram story stated. &#8220;Please be assured all other food i prepare to order so i can promise nothing nasty.
