Well, sorta. The company\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcdonalds.com\/us\/en-us\/product\/cheeseburger.html\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.mcdonalds.com\/us\/en-us\/product\/cheeseburger.html\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"website\" data-node-id=\"4.5\" class=\"body-link css-1i7jlb0 emevuu60\">website<\/a> states that the cheese is \u201cpasteurized process American cheese,\u201d made from milk, cream, water, sodium citrate, salt, cheese cultures, citric acid, enzymes, soy lecithin, and added color. <\/p>\n<section data-embed=\"watch-next\" data-lazy-id=\"P0-14\" data-node-id=\"5\" class=\"embed\"\/>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"6\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">While you might be wondering, <em data-node-id=\"6.1\">Isn\u2019t American cheese&#8230;real cheese?<\/em> According to the FDA, not quite.
