\nWhen Jimmy John\u2019s announced the return of its viral Picklewich, <\/em>the sandwich that swaps bread for giant sliced pickles, I figured it was another fast-food stunt. But after going to PickleCon, the brand\u2019s first-ever event dedicated to the return of the Picklewich and all things pickle-flavored, I can confidently say this: if loving pickles is a crime, lock me up and throw away the key.<\/p>\n
PickleCon felt like stepping into a dill-scented fever dream. There was pickle merch, pickle-themed cocktails, a \u201cPickle Priest\u201d for those ready to commit to their briny obsession, and yes, actual sandwiches to taste. It\u2019s rare for a brand to go this hard for a limited-time comeback, but Jimmy John\u2019s seems to know its audience. And that audience is, apparently, pickle freaks.<\/p>\n

I tried the turkey and the tuna versions, both of which come nestled between two massive pickle halves in place of bread. I\u2019m not going to lie, it\u2019s a bit of a logistical nightmare. This is not<\/em> a first-date sandwich. It\u2019s slippery, juicy, and unapologetically messy. You\u2019ll need napkins, maybe a bib, and a little privacy. But once you get past the chaos, it\u2019s shockingly good.<\/p>\n
\n The turkey Picklewich was a solid combination of crisp, tangy, and refreshing flavors. But, in my opinion, the real star was the tuna. The creaminess of the filling against that snappy, cold pickle made for the perfect bite: salty, vinegary, and just the right amount of weird. It\u2019s like your favorite tuna salad decided to take a spontaneous summer vacation to Pickle Land.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s exactly what it sounds like\u2014ranch dressing with a punch of pickle brine\u2014and it works on literally everything. I dipped my chips, my sandwich, and, if I\u2019m being honest, would probably dip my dignity in it. It\u2019s addictive in that \u201cI know I shouldn\u2019t love this as much as I do\u201d kind of way.<\/p>\n
Speaking of chips, the Pickle Jimmy Chips are back, and they might have been my favorite part of the lineup. They’re crunchy, tangy, and dusted with a briny seasoning that hits all the right notes of salt and sour. They\u2019re the kind of snack you finish halfway through your meal and immediately regret not saving some for later.<\/p>\n
