This week, however, the FDA bumped up the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.accessdata.fda.gov\/scripts\/ires\/index.cfm?Event=97723\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.accessdata.fda.gov\/scripts\/ires\/index.cfm?Event=97723\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"recall\" data-node-id=\"2.3\" class=\"body-link css-1i7jlb0 emevuu60\">recall<\/a> to Class I status, meaning that &#8220;there is a reasonable probability that the use of, or exposure to, a violative product will cause serious adverse health consequences or death.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"3\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">The affected products include six different varieties of cheesecake, all of which mistakenly contain pecans due to an incorrect crust. The products were sold in mid to late September, but there is a possibility that consumers could still have the cakes stored in their freezers.  <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"4\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\"><span data-node-id=\"4.0\">The products were sold throughout Wegmans stores in Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., and include the grocery chain&#8217;s Large Ultimate Plain Cheesecake, Large Ultimate Cherry Topped Cheesecake, Large Ultimate Blueberry Topped Cheesecake, Large Ultimate Strawberry Topped Cheesecake, Large Brulee Cheesecake, and Large Ultimate Fresh Fruit Topped Cheesecake.<\/span><\/p>\n<section data-embed=\"watch-next\" data-lazy-id=\"P0-14\" data-node-id=\"5\" class=\"embed\"\/>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"6\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">The cheesecakes were sold between September 19 and 26 and contain the UPC codes 0-77890-37889-2, 0-77890-38135-9, 0-77890-38136-6, 0-77890-51474-0, 0-77890-54015-2, and 0-77890-38152-6.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"7\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Due to the severity of the recall, customers are urged not to consume the affected products.
