FreshRealm, the exclusive maker of Blue Apron\u2019s meal kits, has filed for bankruptcy. As a result the company has proposed selling its operations to Misfit Market, an online grocer that has now secured a deal to supply Blue Apron.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"2\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Unlike FreshRealm, Misfit Market is dedicated to reducing food waste by selling produce, meats, seafood, and pantry staples that are often rejected by traditional supermarkets due to \u201cugly\u201d aesthetics or packaging issues. It\u2019s possible that Blue Apron\u2019s ingredients might look a little different if the company switches suppliers.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"3\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">But FreshRealm has been in hot water lately. While the company has expanded its production capacity in recent years, it has also moved to cut costs by closing some of its plants.
