I try to eat well, stay away from too much sugar, and generally avoid the kind of fast food that can send me into a full-body spiral the second I finish it. And yet, the exception I make for Taco Bell should probably be studied by doctors.<\/p>\n
As of late, I\u2019ll blame it on the way Live M\u00e1s 2026 dangled all these new menu items in front of me and had me ready to lock in upon their release, intoxicated or otherwise. Either way, I knew there were a few things I had<\/em> to try. So I stopped by a Taco Bell Cantina in the NYC area, got my hands on the latest drops, and gave all four a proper taste test: the Triple Double Crunchwrap<\/strong>, Diablo Dusted Crispy Chicken Nuggets<\/strong>, Zab\u2019s Chicken Ranch Nacho Fries<\/strong>, and Dirty Sips<\/strong>.<\/p>\nTriple Double Crunchwrap<\/h2>\n\n

The queen stays queen. And this one, while not outrageously inventive, gave me exactly what I wanted it to give.<\/p>\n\nIt has that same familiar Crunchwrap energy, just more loaded and approximately the size of your entire face. Seasoned beef, crunchy tostada, nacho cheese, sour cream, lettuce, tomato, all packed into that grilled tortilla situation that somehow always works. It didn\u2019t need to reinvent the wheel. It just needed to be a big, satisfying wheel, and it was.<\/p>\n

But as someone who appreciates spice hard enough to leave a little sweat on the bridge of my nose, I have to admit these delivered.<\/p>\n
The Diablo Dust has real heat that lingers, but in a pleasant way, not in a \u201cwhy did I do this to myself?\u201d way. More importantly, the nuggets themselves were actually good. The chicken tasted real, not gummy or weirdly processed, as you might find in another fake fast-food nugget. Taco Bell may not be my go-to nugget stop, but these made a compelling case.<\/p>\n

But since the regular chicken bacon ranch fries had already converted me once, I came in willing to listen.<\/p>\n
And yes, these were, as expected, a decent bite. The Zab\u2019s sauce brings a sweet little kick, the spicy ranch keeps everything creamy, and the slow-roasted chicken makes it feel more substantial than a rogue side. That said, if I\u2019m giving honest Taco Bell guidance, there are still bigger, better stars on this menu. I enjoyed these; I just wouldn\u2019t tell someone to prioritize them over a giant Crunchwrap unless they\u2019re deeply committed to the fry lifestyle.<\/p>\n

The giant-sugar-drink-as-personality energy makes me feel a little like, okay girl, enjoy your 200 grams of sugar and see you again in two hours.<\/p>\n
That said, I\u2019m certainly not above a sugar-free Baja Blast (one of the only sodas I\u2019ll genuinely go up for). So adding vanilla cr\u00e8me to it sounded like something I was open to in theory. In practice, my first few sips were refreshing enough on an 80-something-degree day. After that, though, I was content enough to never pick it up again. It wasn\u2019t bad, but it just made me want the regular Baja Blast more. No need to dirty it up. Clean eating only\u2026at Taco Bell.<\/p>\n
The Verdict<\/h2>\n
Taco Bell\u2019s new lineup is a mixed bag, but a pretty fun one. The Triple Double Crunchwrap was the very clear winner for me (sometimes more of a good thing is exactly the right move), while the Diablo nuggets came through as the biggest surprise that I\u2019d actually tell people not to sleep on. The Zab\u2019s twist on the fries was solid, even with my trust issues, and, well, the Dirty Sips is a cute idea, but not for this guy. Call me old-fashioned, but sometimes the best Taco Bell order is the one that leaves the least room for tampering.<\/p>\n\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
