It\u2019s one of those shows I watched with my parents and never really let go of, and food competition shows have long been part of my comfort-TV-before-bed rotation too. Back in the earlier competition-show days, <em data-node-id=\"0.3\">Chopped<\/em> was always in there for me. These days I\u2019m more of a <em data-node-id=\"0.5.0\">Tournament of Champions<\/em> guy, but a new spinoff that basically smashes together two of my interests? Yeah, that has my attention.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"1\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">According to <a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/tv\/news\/chopped-castaways-spinoff-food-network-survivor-1236709649\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/tv\/news\/chopped-castaways-spinoff-food-network-survivor-1236709649\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"Variety\" data-node-id=\"1.1\" class=\"body-link css-8bav6j emevuu60\">Variety<\/a>, Food Network is taking <em data-node-id=\"1.5\">Chopped<\/em> out of the kitchen and dropping it onto a remote island for a new series called <em data-node-id=\"1.7\">Chopped Castaways<\/em>. The show is set to premiere May 12 at 9 p.m., and instead of just sprinting around a pantry and glaring at a mystery basket, chefs will also have to prove they can handle a much less air-conditioned kind of pressure.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"2\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Hosted by Ted Allen, the new spinoff will feature judges including Gabe Bertaccini, Maneet Chauhan, and Marcus Samuelsson.
