And when he makes it at home, he has a trick that gives it just the right flavor. \u201cInstead of using sugar in my batter, I actually use maple syrup,\u201d he tells me. \u201cI actually pour the syrup in the batter and mix it in and cook it into the French toast, and then I don\u2019t put it on it because it\u2019s already in it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Beyond French toast, Brown also walked me through the mainstays of his household. \u201cNumber one is Taco Tuesday,\u201d he says. The family preps all the usual taco accouterments, including guacamole, salsa, and beef. They sub in Greek yogurt for sour cream, and Brown\u2019s wife handles her own special spice blend for the meat.<\/p>\n
Steak and pasta are some other go-to meals in the Brown household. \u201cMy youngest son is the most carnivorous of us all and loves steak,\u201d he says. \u201cHe loves to season the steak, and he\u2019s gotten pretty good with his temperature and getting a medium rare finish.\u201d<\/p>\n
Pasta night has its own signature spin, too. \u201cMy wife has a delightful red sauce that she makes, and she takes peppers and onions and garlic and cloves, mixes it all together and chops it up very finely, so it’s almost like Trojan horsing vegetables into the meal for the kids,\u201d Brown says of the family\u2019s go-to spaghetti. Genius.<\/p>\n
And while he eats pretty healthy most of the time, Brown is more than willing to get down and dirty when it comes to fast food. \u201cDouble, double animal style with the lemonade,\u201d he says of his go-to In-N-Out order. \u201cBut I\u2019ll try to do the less sugary version of the pink lemonade when I get it. That\u2019s a pretty standard go-to.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
