The products were first pulled in February, but the agency has now assigned the recall a Class III designation, which means the product violates federal regulations but is not likely to cause serious adverse health consequences.

The issue here is cyclamates, a sweetener that’s banned in food products in the United States. According to FDA enforcement records, the recalled items are Mei Heong Yuen Walnut Flavor Roasted Peanuts and Mei Heong Yuen Garlic Flavor Roasted Peanuts, both sold in 9.17-ounce (260-gram) packages and distributed by Super World Trading Inc. of Brooklyn, New York.

It’s not a full panic-and-clear-the-pantry situation, but it is still a recall, and the products do need to come off the market.

The recall was voluntarily initiated on February 19, 2026, and it remains ongoing. FDA records show that a total of 595 cases are affected. The products were shipped to Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, New York, North Carolina, New Jersey, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Washington.

If you’re checking package details, the walnut-flavored peanuts are linked to recall number H-0642-2026, were manufactured on July 17, 2025, and have an expiration date of January 16, 2027. The garlic-flavored peanuts are tied to recall number H-0643-2026, were manufactured on July 10, 2025, and have an expiration date of January 9, 2027. FDA records also list firm codes 401020 and 401021 for the two products.

The FDA’s Class III label means the agency doesn’t think exposure is likely to cause major health problems, but the products still break U.S. food rules because of the banned sweetener.

So if either of these peanut bags is sitting in your kitchen, now would be a very good time to let them go.
