Apparently nothing! According to new data from restaurant tech platform <a href=\"https:\/\/pos.toasttab.com\/blog\/data\/valentines-day-trends-insights\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/pos.toasttab.com\/blog\/data\/valentines-day-trends-insights\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"Toast\" data-node-id=\"2.1\" class=\"body-link css-8bav6j emevuu60\">Toast<\/a>, steak is the Valentine&#8217;s Day MVP. <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"3\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Toast analyzed U.S. restaurant data from Valentine&#8217;s Day last year and compared it to a typical Friday night. Steak sales jumped 99 percent, the largest increase of any menu item. And honestly, I&#8217;m not too surprised. I love a perfectly seared filet on a special occasion, and red meat just fits the holiday, which is obsessed with a red-and-pink vibe. <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"4\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">One meat that&#8217;s not getting any love, however, is hot dogs. (I know there&#8217;s an inappropriate joke in there somewhere). Toast found desserts and pastries saw a 53 percent increase in orders, proving that this romantic occasion really is the <em data-node-id=\"7.3\">sweetest<\/em> of them all.    <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"8\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">And romantics are splurging on wine when dining out, too, with sales up 38 percent\u2014more than any other alcoholic beverage.
