PopUp Bagels<\/a> just started selling a limited-edition Lemon Pepper Schmear to accompany its bagels. This flavored cream cheese is inspired by Atlanta\u2019s signature wing style, one of many flavors available at Wingstop, and will be available through February 11. <\/p>\nWe got the chance to try the new cream cheese\u2014here\u2019s what you can expect from Lemon Pepper Schmear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The schmear itself is tinted yellow, but don\u2019t worry, not in a scary way. The shade looks more like butter than anything else, which begs the question: Why aren\u2019t we eating more lemon pepper butter?<\/p>\nAppearance aside, you can expect the same fluffy, creamy texture that you\u2019d get from PopUp Bagels spreads. This flavor is ideal for lemon lovers. The added lemon flavor amplifies the natural tang of the cream cheese, but thanks to the salt and pepper, this schmear is still delightfully savory. <\/p>\n
Even Associate Editor Amanda Mactas, a self-proclaimed cream cheese hater, was \u201chappily surprised\u201d by the flavor and said it had lemon poppy seed vibes. \u201cIf I were to be converted to a cream cheese eater, this would be the one to do it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n

A few editors described the spread as too tart, and others felt like it could use a bit of garlic or onion to round out the flavor. Some people didn\u2019t mind the schmear but said it doesn\u2019t stack up to standard spreads like plain or scallion.<\/p>\nEven though this won\u2019t become your everyday order (it is a limited-time flavor, after all), this Lemon Pepper Schmear is a fun and celebratory way to enjoy a bagel before the Big Game.<\/p>\n\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n
