This week, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.accessdata.fda.gov\/scripts\/ires\/?Event=98053\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.accessdata.fda.gov\/scripts\/ires\/?Event=98053\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"FDA\" data-node-id=\"2.5\" class=\"body-link css-1i7jlb0 emevuu60\">FDA<\/a> bumped up the recall to Class I status, meaning consumption of the product has a high probability of causing &#8220;serious adverse health consequences or death.&#8221;  <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"3\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">All of the products involved in the recall have expiration dates well into 2026, so it&#8217;s worth checking your refrigerator now to make sure none of them are sitting on your shelf. The recall pertains to numerous brands of grated Pecorino that were distributed throughout 20 states, including Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Maine, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.  <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"4\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Here&#8217;s what to look out for:<\/p>\n<section data-embed=\"watch-next\" data-lazy-id=\"P0-15\" data-node-id=\"5\" class=\"embed\"\/>\n<ul data-node-id=\"6\" class=\"css-kw9lqy emevuu60\">\n<li data-node-id=\"6.0\">Boar&#8217;s Head Grated Pecorino Romano sold in a 6-ounce cup with expiration dates of 3\/4\/2026 and 3\/12\/2026.<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"6.1\">Locatelli Pecorino Romano Grated sold in a 4-ounce cup with expiration dates of 5\/3\/2026, 5\/10\/2026, and 5\/17\/2026.<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"6.2\">Locatelli Pecorino Romano Grated sold in an 8-ounce cup with expiration dates of 4\/6, 4\/11, 4\/12, 4\/15, 4\/17, 5\/5, 5\/6, 5\/7, 5\/10, 5\/12, 5\/14, and 5\/17\/2026. <\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"6.3\">Member&#8217;s Mark Pecorino Romano 1.5-pound bag with expiration dates of 3\/25\/206, 3\/30\/2026, and 4\/5\/2026. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"7\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Additionally, the following products were sold by the pound and are also included in the recall:<\/p>\n<ul data-node-id=\"8\" class=\"css-kw9lqy emevuu60\">\n<li data-node-id=\"8.0\">Ambriola Grated Pecorino Romano with expiration dates of 2\/28, 3\/4, and 3\/11\/2026.<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"8.1\">Boar&#8217;s Head Pecorino Romano Grated bag with expiration dates of 3\/3 and 3\/12\/2026.<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"8.2\">Locatelli Grated Pecorino Roman with expiration dates of 3\/4, 3\/6, 3\/11, and 3\/13\/2026.<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"8.3\">Pinna Grated Pecorino Romano with the expiration date 3\/11\/2026.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"9\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">According to the original recall, Ambriola is working with the FDA to test both its products and facilities to determine the cause of the contamination.
