Back in November, a major producer recalled<\/a> thousands of batches of its Pecorino Romano cheese due to the confirmed presence of Listeria monocytogenes<\/em>. This week, the FDA<\/a> bumped up the recall to Class I status, meaning consumption of the product has a high probability of causing “serious adverse health consequences or death.” <\/p>\n All of the products involved in the recall have expiration dates well into 2026, so it’s worth checking your refrigerator now to make sure none of them are sitting on your shelf. The recall pertains to numerous brands of grated Pecorino that were distributed throughout 20 states, including Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Maine, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin. <\/p>\n Here’s what to look out for:<\/p>\n
