In-flight meals, on the other hand, are often one of the lowlights. A social media post recently went viral about the food served in United\u2019s First Class cabin\u2014and it suggested that the state of airline food is pretty&#8230;abysmal. But is that really the case? We investigated.<\/p>\n<section data-embed=\"x\" data-lazy-id=\"P0-15\" data-node-id=\"3\" class=\"embed\"\/>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"4\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">The food served on planes has long been the butt of jokes (and, in many cases, deservedly so.) We may never return to the opulence of airline dining in the 1950s, with dedicated dining rooms and Champagne service in coach. But some airlines <em data-node-id=\"4.1\">have<\/em> stepped up their game over the past few years.  <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"5\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">However, not all airplane food is in the same stratosphere. The research team at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.moneysupermarket.com\/travel-insurance\/the-best-and-worst-airline-food\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.moneysupermarket.com\/travel-insurance\/the-best-and-worst-airline-food\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"MoneySuperMarket\" data-node-id=\"5.1\" class=\"body-link css-1i7jlb0 emevuu60\">MoneySuperMarket<\/a> conducted a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/news\/revealed-the-airlines-with-the-best-in-flight-food-073124\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/news\/revealed-the-airlines-with-the-best-in-flight-food-073124\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"study\" data-node-id=\"5.3\" class=\"body-link css-1i7jlb0 emevuu60\">study<\/a> on the quality of in-flight dining across 100 airlines. Using 27,000 customer reviews, researchers narrowed down the top 20 airlines with the best in-flight dining programs.  <\/p>\n<section data-embed=\"watch-next\" data-lazy-id=\"P0-16\" data-node-id=\"6\" class=\"embed\"\/>\n<h2 id=\"best-in-flight-dining-options\" data-node-id=\"7\" class=\"body-h2 css-guqo8m emevuu60\">Best In-Flight Dining Options<\/h2>\n<ol data-node-id=\"8\" class=\"css-kw9lqy emevuu60\">\n<li data-node-id=\"8.0\">Kuwait Airways<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"8.1\">Oman Air<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"8.2\">Middle East Airlines<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"8.3\">Air Alg\u00e9rie<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"8.4\">airBaltic<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"8.5\">Aegean Airlines<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"8.6\">JetBlue<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"8.7\">Turkish Airlines<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"8.8\">Air Mauritius <\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"8.9\">Swiss International Air Lines<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"8.10\">Asiana Airlines<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"8.11\">Belavia<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"8.12\">Austrian Airlines<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"8.13\">Qatar Airlines<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"8.14\">Emirates Air<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"8.15\">JetBlue Mint<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"8.16\">Eva Air<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"8.17\">Etihad Airways<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"8.18\">Ethiopian Airlines<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"8.19\">TAROM  <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"9\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Kuwait Airways nabbed the top slot with an 8.6 out of 10 rating across all cabin classes\u2014 meaning frequent flyers were impressed with <em data-node-id=\"9.1\">everything<\/em>. The carrier offers everything from multi-course options in economy to higher-end options like lobster and beef in its \u201cRoyal Class\u201d service. Meanwhile, Oman Air and Middle Eastern Airlines trailed shortly behind on the list, with ratings of 8.44 and 8.39, respectively. <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"10\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Other airlines in the Middle East dominated the list. Qatar Airways, Emirates, Etihad, and Gulf Air were also praised for their impressive culinary selection. They each scored at least 7.4 on average or higher. Delish editors can concur; our experience with the Emirates in-flight menu was nothing short of stellar. <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"11\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Notably absent are U.S.-based carriers. Only JetBlue and JetBlue Mint earned a spot on this list, and we can again confirm that their placements are warranted. Whether you\u2019re in economy or first class, you can expect a solid in-flight meal with JetBlue. <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"12\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">As for the other airlines in the States that didn\u2019t make the cut, let this be a wake-up call.
