\nI know I might be in the minority here, but if a menu gives me the option, I\u2019m choosing onion rings over fries almost every time. Fries are reliable, but onion rings are crispy, salty, oniony, and always my go-to next to a big, fat cheeseburger with a little ketchup on the side.<\/p>\n
And now, Shake Shack just made it official: onion rings are no longer a limited-time fling. They\u2019re a permanent menu item.<\/p>\n\n\n

But while items like the French Onion Burger, French Onion ‘Shroom Burger, French Onion Shack Stack, and Parmesan Garlic Fries are expected to eventually rotate out to make room for the next limited-time drop, Shake Shack is keeping the crunchy star around for good.<\/p>\n\nThe announcement came straight from Shake Shack\u2019s Instagram.<\/p>\n
“Attention all Shake Shack fans: This notice is to inform you that Onion Rings have officially joined our permanent menu,” the post’s caption reads. “We\u2019ve been working closely with crinkle cuts on the announcement, and they\u2019re looking forward to welcoming another side to the menu. Together, they\u2019ll share the honor of being the crunchy, savory sidekicks to your favorite burgers and chicken sandwiches.”<\/p>\n\nThe onion rings are crispy and beer-battered, made with sweet Spanish onions, and served with your choice of sauces, including honey mustard, ranch, barbecue, or Shack Sauce.<\/p>\n
And fans? They\u2019re reacting exactly how you\u2019d want the internet to react to an onion ring win. One person commented, “Dreams do come true.” Another called it “Best news ever \ud83d\udc9a,” while someone else summed up the news with, “It\u2019s the little things that make me happy \ud83d\udd25.” (We also got a: “Hey, is someone cutting onions in here \ud83e\udd72\ud83e\udd79\ud83d\ude0d”\u2014which, yes, emotionally and literally.)<\/p>\n
