Enter Besties\u2014literally two Sour Patch Kids fused together\u2014and Glow Ups, which look totally normal until they start glowing under a blacklight thanks to turmeric extract. Glow Ups feel a little gimmicky at first, but seeing your candy light up is\u2026 kind of cool. If you don\u2019t own a blacklight (most of us don\u2019t), there\u2019s a Snap lens so you can fake it. It\u2019s very Gen-Z, very \u201cdon\u2019t let a lack of technology stop your vibe.\u201d<\/p>\n
Besties, meanwhile, stole my heart. The packaging fully calls out that the kids are \u201cholding hands,\u201d which is both adorable and hilarious. Flavor-wise, the Redberry and Blue Raspberry duo is elite. I can already predict this will be the new movie-theater must-have.<\/p>\n

The new formats (Chews, Strips) and seasonal Glow Ups are tailor-made for the internet, while Besties and Fruits Mix Tropical make the brand feel more versatile than ever.<\/p>\n
As someone who has loved this candy long before I understood dental insurance, I can confidently say: the Sour Patch Kids era is about to get a lot more chaotic, and I will be eating up every moment of it.
