But after the initial hype, it didn&#8217;t take long for customers to notice some differences between the two sandwiches.  <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"3\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">To be clear, the American version is &#8220;inspired by&#8221; the Japanese classic\u2014not a downright copy. Some say it&#8217;s a good interpretation of the original sandwich, while others lament that the American version doesn&#8217;t even compare. &#8220;They&#8217;re horrible.
