Seven varieties of shredded cheese have been recalled due to possible metal contamination. The manufacturer, Great Lakes Cheese Co., Inc., voluntarily recalled over 250,000 cases of shredded cheese distributed to retailers in 32 U.S. states, including Puerto Rico.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"3\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.accessdata.fda.gov\/scripts\/ires\/?Event=97827\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.accessdata.fda.gov\/scripts\/ires\/?Event=97827\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"recall\" data-node-id=\"3.1\" class=\"body-link css-1i7jlb0 emevuu60\">recall<\/a> is classified as Class II, meaning those who consume the affected product risk possible reversible internal injury. The cheeses were distributed at a wide array of retailers, including Publix, Sprouts, H-E-B, and Target. All of the affected products have 2026 expiration dates, meaning they could still be lingering in your fridge.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"4\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">The affected products include: <\/p>\n<section data-embed=\"watch-next\" data-lazy-id=\"P0-13\" data-node-id=\"5\" class=\"embed\"\/>\n<ul data-node-id=\"6\" class=\"css-kw9lqy emevuu60\">\n<li data-node-id=\"6.0\"><strong data-node-id=\"6.0.0\">Low-Moisture Part-Skim Mozzarella Shredded Chees<\/strong><strong data-node-id=\"6.0.1\">e<\/strong> with sell by dates between January and March 2026, with varying brand labels including Always Save, Borden, Brookshire\u2019s, Cache Valley Creamery, Chestnut Hill, Coburn Farms, Econo, Food Club, Food Lion, Gold Rush Creamery, Good &amp; Gather, Great Lakes Cheese, Great Value, Happy Farms by Aldi, H-E-B, Hill Country Fare, Know &amp; Love, Laura Lynn, Lucerne Dairy Farms, Nu Farm, Publix, Schnuck\u2019s, Simply Go, Sprouts Farmers Market, Stater Bros. Markets, and Sunnyside Farms.<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"6.1\"><strong data-node-id=\"6.1.0\">Italian Style Shredded Cheese Blend <\/strong>with sell-by dates throughout February 2026, with varying labels including Brookshire\u2019s, Cache Valley Creamery, Coburn Farms, Great Value, Know &amp; Love, Laura Lynn, Publix, and Simply Go. <\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"6.2\"><strong data-node-id=\"6.2.0\">Happy Farms by Aldi Italian Style Shredded Cheese Blend<\/strong> with sell-by dates of February 22 and 23, 2026.<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"6.3\"><strong data-node-id=\"6.3.0\">Pizza Style Shredded Cheese Blend<\/strong> with sell-by dates in February and March 2026, with varying labels including Econo, Gold Rush Creamery, Great Value, Laura Lynn, and Simply Go.<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"6.4\"><strong data-node-id=\"6.4.0\">Food Club Finely Shredded Pizza Style Four Cheese Blend<\/strong> with a sell-by date of March 21, 2026. <\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"6.5\"><strong data-node-id=\"6.5.0\">Mozzarella and Provolone Shredded Cheese Blend<\/strong> with sell-by dates throughout February 2026, with varying labels including Freedom\u2019s Choice, Good &amp; Gather, Great Lakes Cheese, and Great Value.<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"6.6\"><strong data-node-id=\"6.6.0\">Good &amp; Gather Mozzarella &amp; Parmesan Shredded Cheese<\/strong> with sell-by dates of March 15, 21, and 22, 2026. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"7\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Consumers need to check their shredded cheese stash to ensure that none of the affected products remain.
