I\u2019ve already experienced two of their collabs before (hi, Chips Ahoy and Gatorade), but the pre-season tie-ins feel way louder overseas than stateside. Case in point: Burger King\u2019s new Stranger Things menu\u2026which, cruel twist, isn\u2019t here.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"3\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">In France, BK is running two limited menus\u2014Hellfire Club and Upside Down\u2014that read like a Hawkins foodie fever dream. Hellfire Club centers on a chicken sandwich with maple sauce and a side of &#8220;Surfer Boy Pizza&#8221; in a smoked-pineapple concoction. Upside Down serves a beef burger on a black bun with bacon and maple syrup sauce, plus a fiery Vecna dip &#8220;from the Upside Down.&#8221; There are five collectible cups (Hawkins Heroes, Hellfire Forever, Upside Down, Vecna, WSQK), and a dessert called the Eleven Fusion\u2014ice cream loaded with Biscoff and waffle pieces\u2014because of course it is.<\/p>\n<section data-embed=\"instagram\" data-lazy-id=\"P0-13\" data-node-id=\"4\" class=\"embed\"\/>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"5\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Fans in the U.S. aren&#8217;t exactly pleased that they can&#8217;t experience this for themselves. \u201cThis is so exciting \u2026.oh wait not in the US! Such a tease \ud83d\ude22,\u201d one person wrote. Another said, \u201cIt\u2019s so irritating how the US never gets these really cool meals. We need this!! \ud83d\udd25\ud83d\udd25\u201d Someone else summed up the mood: \u201cFast food franchises in the U.S. have really dropped the ball for season 5 collabs,&#8221; followed by a more straightforward message: \u201cHow rude, @burgerking \ud83d\ude22.\u201d<\/p>\n<section data-embed=\"watch-next\" data-lazy-id=\"P0-14\" data-node-id=\"6\" class=\"embed\"\/>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"7\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">BK France also hid an \u201cAppside Down\u201d trick: flip your phone upside down, and the secret menu appears in the app. It\u2019s a neat bit of <em data-node-id=\"7.1\">Stranger Things<\/em> promotion<em data-node-id=\"7.3\"\/>\u2014unlock the menu the same way you\u2019d unlock, well, a gate.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"8\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Timing-wise, the French rollout syncs with Season 5\u2019s first episode drop and runs for a limited window. No word on a U.S. version, which feels like a seriously missed opportunity.
