Deli staple Boar’s Head has initiated a voluntary recall on one of its popular cheese products. Its Smoked Gouda cheese has been mislabeled, and as such, the brand initiated a recall of 65 cases, or 780 packages total. Luckily, the affected cheese products were only distributed in Florida, so customers in other states need not worry at the moment.
Strangely, no further information was provided in the recall notice regarding how exactly the products had been mislabeled. Typically, mislabeling affects consumers with food aversions or allergies, as undeclared food products can cause severe, and sometimes deadly, reactions.
For those of you in Florida, check your refrigerator for the affected packages, which were sold in 8-ounce packaging with the UPC code 0 42421-50006 6 and an expiration date of September 3, 2025. Since there’s no additional information available at this time regarding the specific nature of the recall, it’s recommended that you do not consume the product and dispose of it instead.
