Ina Garten is my forever inspo. And while I’ll probably never publish a cookbook of my own or buy a sprawling Hamptons estate (maybe in my dreams), at least I can emulate her all-around good vibes—which, apparently, she’s been rocking for decades.

On Wednesday, Ina took to Instagram with some timely throwback pics. “It’s officially summer!” she captioned the carousel. “I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday weekend, with good food, great friends, and the chance to jump in the water! ⛱️🏊‍♀️ xxx Ina.”

In the photos, Ina is outfitted in a brown and white polka dot bathing suit and lounging on the beach with pals—whom she’s actually just recently reconnected with. The photos, which were originally shared in her memoir, feature old high school classmates.

“In researching my memoir ‘Be Ready When the Luck Happens,’ I reconnected with some great friends from high school like Janet Sloatman Files (@janetsfiles), which was so much fun after 60 years!!,” she wrote in another post. She even added that the note she was scrawling in the photo was likely a letter to her now-husband, Jeffrey.

“I had a pretty difficult life at home so my friends were like a lifeline for me,” she continued in the caption. “They were smart, creative and so supportive. This is a picture of Janet and me on a beach in New Jersey where her parents were vacationing. I had just met Jeffrey so my guess is that I’m writing a letter to him!”

Fans quickly took to the comment section with their adoration for vintage Ina. “Awww love this throw back! It’s like your autobiography coming to life for me 😍,” one user wrote. “Great picture!! Looks like a movie scene!! I am reading your new book. 🤗😍,” another chimed in.

“Love these photos! I’ll be making so many of your recipes this summer, Ina 💕,” a third fan wrote.

I’m taking a cue out of Ina’s playbook and spending the holiday with “good food, great friends, and the chance to jump in the water!” Maybe I’ll even try out her cold lobster roll recipe that she just dropped on Insta.
