Aside from her career as an award-winning rapper, Cardi B also lends her talents to numerous other endeavors, from entertaining fans on her Instagram Lives to flexing her acting chops in movies like Hustlers. But she doesn’t stop there. Back in 2021, Cardi B teamed up with Starco Brands to launch a vodka-infused whipped cream line called Whipshots. Since its launch, the brand has successfully rolled out a variety of boozy cocktail (and food) toppings in flavors like caramel, mocha, and strawberry. Now, joining the ranks of other popular varieties comes Whipshots Chocolate, another sweet flavor clocking in at 10% ABV.
Over drinks at Manhattan’s Serendipity 3 (Cardi’s Spiked Frrrozen Hot Chocolate slaps), which is offering a limited-time menu featuring Cardi’s new whipped cream, I caught up with the multi-hyphenate to discuss the new launch, her upcoming album, and what she likes to make in the kitchen. Spoiler: she actually does cook and clean, as it turns out.
Looking for inspo when it comes to how exactly to use Whipshots? Cardi loves topping her hot (and frozen) chocolate with it.
Speaking of chocolate, Cardi’s excited about the new flavor. “I feel like mocha was holding people down for a bit, even though the flavors are actually way different. You think that mocha gives chocolate until you really taste chocolate,” she explains of the new launch. “We finally made it, and it’s delicious, it’s great, and it’s real chocolate.” After sampling a few too many spoonfuls myself, I can vouch for that.
In addition to topping drinks like hot cocoa and dessert cocktails with the booze-infused treat, Cardi let us in on the most unexpected way she’s seen fans using Whipshots. And let’s just say, this one’s NSFW. “I’ve seen people use Whipshots on social media in the most OnlyFans way, that’s all I’m gunna say,” she told me with raised eyebrows. “I mean, I put it on my coffee, but if you wanna put it there, hey, I love it!” she shared.
It’s also no secret that Cardi gets creative in the kitchen. She’s made headlines sharing her unique food pairings, like dunking her Doritos in BBQ sauce and dousing slices of pineapple in sour candy powder (honestly, I’m intrigued), but she still loves to make classic dishes. “I’m really good at making chocolate brownies,” she shared. “Today, I was planning to do strawberry brownies because somebody said that they like strawberry brownies. So I was like, alright, let me try to do them.” We’re waiting on the results, Cardi!
Top of mind for everyone these days is the recent announcement that her sophomore album finally has a launch date—and we can’t wait until September. Sadly, she can’t share who we can expect to hear collab with her on some vocals, but she did tell me we can expect “a lot of bad b*ches.” You know what they say, like attracts like, so we’re all ears for what’s next!
