No bologna, big problem. For those of you have have picked up cold cuts for your next grazing board or your kids’ school lunches, you may need to double check that fridge. Gaiser’s European Style Provisions Inc. has recalled 143,416 pounds of its ready-to-eat bologna for containing “meat or poultry source materials that are not declared on product labels.”
There are seven different affected products, which were all produced between March 20 and June 20, 2025 and bear the establishment number “EST. 5385.” All of the specific product labels can be found on the USDA recall announcement. Fortunately, this particular recall is only classified as a Class III, meaning it is unlikely the consumption of these products will result in any adverse health effects, however, the FSIS urges anyone concerned about an illness to contact their healthcare provider.
Additionally, FSIS put out a statement urging consumers not to ingest the affected products and to instead throw them away or return them to their place of purchase.
