If you’re grossed out easily, you might want to pass on your next cup of coffee. That’s because across social media—from Reddit to TikTok—people are expressing their shock after discovering that their coffee creamer has a gooey, glue-like consistency.

One particular video of the slimy mess, which was posted on TikTok by Gabriella Seal (ellabellabobellafofella), has received over 6 million views. In her TikTok, Seal can be seen stretching the mysterious goo with her hands as she pours it out of her bottle of International Delight’s Hazelnut coffee creamer.

“I had not opened it yet. The expiration date is March 2025. Like, we’re rocking, right? I go to undo the top and take the thing off and pour it in. Do you see this? It’s literal slime,” she explained.

And according to the comments, she’s not the only one experiencing the coffee creamer catastrophe. Others detailed similar experiences with International Delight’s collection of coffee creamers.

“I had this exact brand do this years ago. I went to pour it out, it came out as a slow blob, and then when I turned it back up IT SUCKED ITSELF BACK IN,” said one person.

Although there’s no official answer as to why your morning coffee has turned into a gooey mess, internet sleuths believe it could be the result of a storage issue.

“As some who works in a dairy plant that makes creamer and milk (not international delight) it was definitely stored improperly. Most likely where it was the temperature was fluctuating,” read one comment.

Another TikToker suggested that the problem could be part of a bigger issue with transportation or the store the product was sold at.

“When they go bad, they can turn to slime instead of curdled. In transportation, or the store…. something wasn’t at ideal temp. Reach out to the company. You will get coupons for free ones,” they wrote.

A representative from International Delight has shared with Delish that they are aware of the quality issue. Additionally, the rep confirmed that the texture of the coffee creamer is not a safety issue.

“International Delight has seen the consumer video related to a texture issue with our creamer,” said the representative. “As with any negative consumer experience, we take this to heart and our team is working quickly to better understand what has caused this. While we know this is disappointing to our creamer fans, we are confident that this is not a food safety issue.

“We take every person’s experience seriously,” they continued. “For those that are experiencing an issue, please contact International Delight via our Consumer Care Line at 800-441-3321 so we can better understand and help make it right.”

On the plus side, those DIY slime projects just became a lot easier.
